The Story

In central Africa, with rapidly growing food prices, people are turning toward the forest for food. Forest animals are a reservoir of viruses, microscopic pathogens living in the animals' blood. The danger lies in zoonotic viruses; ones that can jump from animals to humans. Scientists worry that zoonotic viruses could trigger the next pandemic.
