The Story

Shark cage diving is becoming one of South Africa's biggest attractions, bringing in over $30 million each year. "Shark Alley" is six kilometers off the coast of Kleinbaai in South Africa where tourists can go diving with the sharks. Tour operators chum the water, then tourists get in the water to cage dive and free dive with the sharks.

The experience is controversial, with opponents claiming it conditions sharks behavior to associate food with humans. The operators dispute this, arguing the focus is on conservation and education.
