The Story
Empty, wild, and culturally diverse, Gansu is home to a number of prehistoric cultures. The 1600 kilometer Silk Road brought traders, monks, and pilgrims through Gansu. Today Gansu is a crossroads of Buddhism, Islam, Christianity, Confucianism, and Taoism.
